  1. Initially, looking at these images, it appears that the women marching are demonstrating a promiscuous "shock value" in order to voice their thoughts on anti-rape. They are dressed in revealing clothes that some might argue make the women look "easy" or give off the impression that they are "asking for it". From first glance, the womens' march is justified in the sense that they are showing the greater public that the way you express yourself with your clothes does not justify inhumane actions such as rape.

  2. Although I agree with the underlying message that the women are trying to convey, I do not think the way they are delivering it is very appropriate. I understand their purpose for dressing like this in order to achieve "shock value" and make a public statement defying society's tendency to blame women (the victims) for rape as opposed to men (the aggressors). However, I think that dressing like this during the protest may divert attention from the overall message as well as defeat the purpose of demanding respect and regard while dressing in a fashion that is certainly not respectable nor appropriate.

  4. The message they are expressing has good intentions, but the exaggerated way of conveying it is completely unnecessary. It's a desperate attempt of using shock value to gain attention. However, it distracts the audience from the initial message. It's also degrading to a certain degree, conveying the idea that all women are promiscuous and want to appear this way.

  5. The extremism in the women's rights movement detracts from the actual movement. TO be more effective i feel the women should protest WITH clothes on but i feel that without clothes people actually pay attention to the movement

  6. I don't believe that their method of delivery is very appropriate. Their revealing clothes achieve that "shock factor" and evokes that rebellious status. Their clothes insinuates that they are "asking for it" or "want it." They are making a public statement that is protected by their first amendment right. I believe the way they dress themselves detracts front the purpose of the protest. At first glance, the march is justified and reveals that they way one expresses themselves and dresses themselves doesn't justify actions such as rape and abuse.
